Spicy french fries from Java Restaurant in the Inner Richmond

Java Restaurant is a family-owned and operated restaurant on Clement Street in the Inner Richmond. They serve Indonesian and Chinese-style food, which is very good in its own right, but many people visit this little restaurant for their spicy french fries, of all things.
It’s a very simple, but very tasty dish to have as an appetizer before your meal, or even as just a standalone snack. They take perfectly crisp french fries and toss them in a homemade sweet and spicy chili sauce. The result is a perfect combination of salty, sweet, and just a hint of spiciness.
