Get Drunk Playing Sloshball in Golden Gate Park

16Apr09

Update: Check out my recap and photos from this event: Sloshball in Golden Gate Park; Recap and Photos

This Saturday, April 18, a group of smart Yelpers will be hosting a game of Sloshball at Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park. What is Sloshball, you ask? It’s basically a game of kickball with kegs. That’s pretty much it, and I don’t think I have to say anything more. For a list of all the official rules, visit the Yelp event page

Some of my favorite rules:

1. Any player reaching 2nd base must finish the fine beverage waiting for them there before they are allowed to proceed to third base. Failure to complete this step results in an automatic out.

4. Any time a player hits a home run, play is haulted and his/her entire team is invited to join him/her at 2nd base for what is known as a “team social”.

11. All Sloshball games are opened with a singing of the National Anthem.

Thanks for the tip, Aly!

  1. 1 Ross

Hey how did this work out? Is the city ok with kegs on speedway meadow?
    Cheers

  2. Hey Ross, yes it’s okay to have kegs at speedway meadow. Just don’t get too rowdy or disturb other park-goers and all should be cool. Have fun!

  3. 3 Cody Wade

Just heard about this randomly from a friend. Sounds awesome just wanted to double check and make sure no permits were needed?

  4. Hey Cody, as far as I know none are needed. Just keep it under control and dont give any parkgoers a reason to complain and you should be fine.

  5. Greetings! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website?
I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m
looking at options for another platform. I would be
great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
